Chicago is not Seneca

Chicago is not Seneca

Chicago Skyline
Not sure if we would be rebuffed if we tried to make friendly acquaintances. Not willing to try since we're only staying a week. Still, we love Chicago!

I wrote in my post Seneca, Illinois that the boating community was friendly and welcoming and that you’re a part of it right away. Well, it wasn’t like that in Chicago.

A woman did greet us when we arrived and told us the codes and where the bathroom was. She was the only one.

I would smile and nod and greet people that I passed by. Nothing.

So, cities are cities.

Not that it bothers me. I’m used to cities. I really like Chicago. The River Walk is fantastic. The weather is wonderful, although a tad on the hot side.

The Cubs and the Sox play here. Greg, Matthew, and I went to a Cubs game. Greg and Matthew went to a Sox game.

The Cubs Game

I don’t really like how I look in videos, but I’ve decided to post some anyway.

When we got to the subway on the way to the Cubs game, we saw an incredible performer who made us Happy. Make sure you notice the guy chilling on the escalator.

One of the things I found very cool were the bleachers on the apartment rooftop outside the stadium.

About US

Greg and Charlene

We’re Greg and Charlene.

The Journey So Far starts when we left the cottage for our boating adventure.

We’re documenting our journey here so that we can look back when we are old(er) and remember the adventure we had.

We also want to share our adventure with family and friends.

Our sons Matthew and Matthew will join us on our journey at times.
