Products I Love

Full disclosure: I’m an Amazon affiliate. If you purchase an item from Amazon using a link on this page, I will make a small commission. I only promote items that I have purchased and used on the boat.

I now own three instant pots. Two at home and one on the boat. I really, really wanted a Duo Crisp, but just didn’t think we would have room for it. It turns out we do!

This is a larger appliance, so please make sure you have the room before you buy. If I didn’t have cupboard space, I would have put it in the oven because this really does replace the oven for me. In addition to pressure cooking, it can bake, roast, air fry, and broil. I mostly make ribs and chicken. Ribs are amazing in the Instant Pot and chicken is a breeze.

I love it because It makes perfect rice and perfect eggs. I can’t mess them up. Meat still relies on me to choose the right temperature and time, but I’m getting better.

As mentioned in this post, I discovered you can air fry eggs! This is fantastic since the version I bought didn’t come with a trivet. I ended up buying one, as well as an egg rack, but I like that I have options. I also bought the insert pans because I want to try baking in the Instant Pot. I wouldn’t have thought of it, but my Instant Pot came with a recipe for banana bread. I know, I know. Bananas on boats are not a good idea because of the fruit flies. (We learned that lesson in Alton.) Every now and again, though, I have a craving for something sweet and I prefer homemade to store bought when it comes to banana bread.
