Mugs Mugs Mugs
I just finished setting up another store. This one is just mugs. I created some boating mugs if you’d like to take a look. There are other mugs as well if you’re looking for gifts. ๐
These are the mugs I made for me and my family.
It’s Almost Time to Get Off the Boat
We decided not to take the boat to Florida this year. With the damage caused by Hurricane Ian, we weren’t able to get reservations at Marinas for November, and even if we were able to, we didn’t want to take resources that people in Florida might need.
Having said that, we aren’t quite ready to give up boating, so we decided to take a side trip to Chattanooga.
Pardon me, boys
The song, “Pardon me, boys, is that the cat who chewed your new shoes?” is constantly going through my mind.
According to the Internet, Chattanooga Choo Choo was written for Sun Valley Serenade in 1941 by composers Mack Gordon (lyrics) and Harry Warren (music).
Crawmama’s
On our way to Chattanooga, we stopped for dinner at Crawmama’s in Guntersville, Alabama. I love this place!
I asked Sherry if I could take her picture and post it on my blog. She said yes. ๐
Sherry could tell we weren’t from Alabama “because we talked funny”. I really liked her. I didn’t know what to order. Sherry recommended The Boil. When it arrived, I realized I had no idea how to eat crawfish. I figured out the tails. They are like mini lobsters after all. But, what do you do with the rest? I discovered later that you suck the “crawfish butter” out of the head. I’m not sure I’m a fan, but would be willing to try again.
We were a little bit apprehensive when we chose this place. We were looking for a place with comfortable seats. All of the other places we looked at had wood or folding chairs.ย
At Crawmama’s, you can pick the type of chair you want to sit in! Nothing matched. It was a real character place and the food was fantastic!
Chattanooga Regatta
Thank goodness we had planned to stay in the Chattanooga area for several days since the river was closed for three days.
It looks like it was the Head of the Hooch Regatta, which is held every year. We didn’t know it was happening until we got to Chattanooga.
A Walking Bridge and Lots of Stairs
The first thing we did when we arrived was walk across the walking bridge in search of MSM. The bridge is amazing.
Dining with the Harbour Host
We went out for lunch with some fellow loopers. The harbour host recommended the Mayan Kitchen. I had the Tikal Skillet, which I really enjoyed. Greg’s meal was okay, but he doesn’t really enjoy this type of food.
I liked the decor, but the washroom signs gave me a bit of a giggle. I think if you were indulging in wine and weren’t really paying attention, it might be easy to get these two confused.
All in all, I’m glad we went to Chattanooga. It was an interesting place and we had enough time to see a few of the sites. It also gave us a chance to stay on the boat a little bit longer.
